Here’s my intro post to the #LD48 competition for this weekend: http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/2012/04/20/were-in-34/
Round 4 of Ludum Dare theme voting had a couple time travel based suggestions. If one of those wins I’m doing a “Back To The Future” game for sure…
I’ll be participating in Ludum Dare 23 this weekend, but I’ll also be partying in Ames for VEISHEA so I’m not sure how well this game will end up turning out… My plan is to aim for some easy goals because I know I want a finished product and it’s much easier to add to it if I finish early instead of not having time to finish completely. Kiki Snell is helping me out...
So I just realized I never ended up typing out a development log for the previous project I worked on, but now that it’s been a week I probably won’t ever get around to it. Maybe next time. This past weekend I release a college drinking game for Android. There is a paid version as well as a free version and you can find them here… PAID:...
Here’s the link to me #MolyJam game from this past weekend: http://www.whatwouldmolydeux.com/display.php?GameID=128 It’s also available to download on the Google Play market for Android here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ElzingaMedia.SonShine The Android build has been having some issues though and despite resigning the package multiple times it’s still...

MolyJam is this weekend! I’ve chosen the tweet I’m planning on using and I have a rough idea of what I want to do, but seeing how it’s a game jam I don’t want to put too much thought into it until the competition actually beings. I’ll be developing it in Unity and plan on making a downloadable version, streamed web version, and hopefully an Android version for phones...
Unity3D Mobile Basic is free until April 8th. If you ever plan on using Unity I would highly recommend you download it now before the price jumps back up to $800… http://unity3d.com/mobile/
Been pretty busy with work and haven’t done much indie programming since the miniLD contest the other week. I got a 3-way tie for 11th place, but I still had a good time and made a few fun games. I’ve been busy playing Mass Effect 3 now but I’m hoping to do a bit of work on some side projects this coming weekend.

Game #8 is done, 2 more to go and I still have almost 8 hours. Looks like I’ll make my goal!
Woke up, finished up game #6, chugged a Monster energy drink, and now I’m ready to finish up these last four games…
One hour in and my first title is about 75% finished. It’s a Minesweeper clone with different difficulty settings. I think once I wrap it up I might make it so you need to finish the lower difficulty settings before moving on to the more advanced ones. I’m getting tired though so I think I’m going to get a good night of sleep and then make games all day tomorrow…
Putting my current side project on hold for a weekend full of creating simple micro games for the Ludum Dare miniLD#32 and PirateKart events. I’ll be posting anything I create here and on my Facebook and Twitter. I want to aim for at least ten small titles but I’d really like to end up with 15-20. Seeing how the rules aren’t too strict I think what I’ll do is pump out a...
A small side project I programmed is up online and available to play. It’s based on several popular college drinking games and you can play it at www.circleofdrunk.com! I’m looking towards starting a new side project now and I think it’d be really cool to do an adventure game. I use to play adventure games all the time, especially the “Hugo” series by David Gray...
Looking at everything I’ve got due in the next week or two I think I’ll be working some long nights this week, both at work and at home. I’ve got several projects I need to wrap up at the office this week and I’m really hoping to finally launch the side project I’ve been working on this week as well. I’m aiming for a Thursday night release but that could be...
Today is going to be filled with my least favorite thing to do… Fixing bugs. I’ve got a pretty huge backlog of minor fixes I need to make for different projects so I’m slowly making my way through that list today so we can include all the changes in the next patch for each of the different projects. So far they’ve all been pretty basic fixes and haven’t taken me too...
I’ve been pretty busy with work. I keep getting new projects added to my long list of things to work on. I’m pretty sure my current list is at least 20+ games long… I’m hoping to be able to get some work done on a side project though tonight and a bit more later in the week.

I’m finished with the majority of the programming on my side project but I’m still waiting on a bit of the art. I figure while I wait I might just program the mobile version as well. I was going to wait until I got a Pro license for Unity3D and just rebuild the project for mobile but now I think it might just be easier to do it from scratch for the Android platform. I can optimize it...
The other day I needed to test the award screen for winning a game and couldn’t even beat it so I needed to eventually program in cheats for myself so I could test the winning conditions. Now in the bug list I was sent there was a concern about if I had forgotten to add in the losing event because apparently the designer got really lucky and beat it every single time he tested it without...
Finished up a game yesterday and made some changes to another today. I’m busy working on a title for a mid-February release but I just got a list of a bunch of new games I need to convert to Facebook. Looks like the next couple of months are going to be fairly busy. Outside of work I’ve made some more progress to one of my independent projects. I plan on doing some additional play...
I had a group of around twelve people play testing my current game project this weekend. We found a couple bugs but for the most part it went well and people seemed to enjoy it. I have a new list of things I want to change and a few small features I’d like to add but I really don’t think there’s too much left before it’s finished…
Made a few more additions to the game I’ve been working on. Added a bunch more placeholder art but I got some of the final art in too. It’s looking pretty nice, I’ll probably post a screen shot once I’ve got a bit more done and then once it’s finished I’ll give a download link…
Started a small game idea for a friend’s party last night. It’s based on a popular card game. I made it to an alpha phase and I emailed it to a friend to work on redoing the art. I might post it here once I get it back and make a couple changes, it’s nothing big but some might enjoy it…
Looks like it’s going to be a long work week. My deadline for the 8th needs to be finished before my deadline for the 1st because it needs to get sent off for approval. I’m still finishing up the title for the 15th as well, I might be working a couple hours extra just so I can catch back up on everything…
Narrowing in on a new project idea. I’ve been doing some research into non-tradition controllers and I think I’d like to either pick up a NeuroSky dev kit or built something on my own with the Arduino microcontroller I got for Christmas. The ArduinoLilyPad could be used for some cool ideas too…
One of my New Year’s Resolutions is to get another game of my own out. Even if it’s just something small on mobile. I’ve got a couple ideas for some small arcade games that could work for Facebook, mobile, or XLIA but I also have a handful of half finished game projects I should really wrap up before I try starting anything else…

Had a pretty good Christmas. I got “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” on Bluray, an extra PS3 controller, the BBC show “Life” on Bluray (the original narration, not the lame Oprah redub), and an Arduino starter kit. I’m looking forward to trying out the later and making some custom game controller ideas for a couple PC game projects. I’ve seen a few posts about...
Fixed up a few bugs for our Friday Facebook release this week. Other than one small change to a January first release I should be all set for meeting all my deadlines before my Christmas vacation. I’m looking forward to having a week and a half off, I’m hoping to make some progress on a couple personal projects. One of my New Year’s Resolutions is definitely to finish and release...
Have two games I worked on going out to the Facebook game today. Yesterday I finished up a game for the 1st so now I’m fixing a couple bugs and beginning work on the DLC for the 15th of next month. I’m glad everything up to January 1st is finished up now though, it’ll make my Christmas vacation much less stressful.
Already had plans this weekend or I’d be doing Ludum Dare 22. I’m definitely going to try to do #23 though I may get a small group together and do the Jam instead. http://www.ludumdare.com
I both started and finished a new Facebook conversion today. I’m feeling quite productive…
Less than two weeks until my Christmas vacation! I’m going to be extra busy until then but it’ll be great to take a week off. I’m hoping to get some more progress done on a couple personal projects with my time off as well.
Started a new game when I came in this morning and I’m already almost half-way finished with it. Which is good because it’s our DLC for the 15th. I also got some bugs fixed and the download game for the 8th all finished up and sent off to it’s final testing phase. December is going to be a busy month but at least I’ve gotten some good progress made so far towards our...
Spent a couple hours trying to figure out what was wrong with one of my rendering functions only to realize that code I was porting from MonoDevelop apparently had some invisible unicode symbols that were causing major issues while compiling in Visual Studio. This isn’t the first time I’ve had this issue either. A couple weeks ago there were invisible unicode symbols in a code comment...

I thought this was a pretty cool idea. I think I’d like it better if the shirt designs showed off your XBL Gamertag as well. (Maybe they do, I didn’t browse the site for too long…) I don’t think I’d ever get one of these but I still thought it was neat.
Lame, I have builds to make but our asset server is down. I suppose I’ve got other stuff to work on until it’s back up… Lots of games to finish up and make fixes to before I’m off for a week following Christmas. Should be a pretty busy month for me…
Notepad++ with the Zenburn setting is the best. I’ve been a fan of Notepad++ for over five years but just recently I started using the Zenburn settings and it’s so much better. I think all the programmers at work are using it except the new guy, but he’ll be converted soon I’m sure… In other news I’m really starting to focus on some side projects I’ve been...
Two games down, waiting on some art for the third. Added a feature to another game too and did some bug fixes and sound changes today.
Almost 30 hours into Skyrim, still feel like I’m just scratching the surface of what there is to find and do. I haven’t even been to half of the major cities yet. No idea how long it’s actually going to take me to beat this massive game…
Facebook Ports! I’ve got three older games to convert to Facebook over the next couple weeks and then I’ve got the December Monthly Remaster to take care of so the next couple weeks might be a bit busy. There’s also the January first title coming soon and I’m hoping to take off the week after Christmas so everything needs to be finished up a couple weeks in advance… I...
